
A series of meetings on preparations for the Olympic qualification and the 2028 Games continued at the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus with a gathering involving the national judo team and its coaching staff.
The meeting was attended by Viktor Lukashenko, President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, Sports Minister Sergei Kovalchuk, the leadership of the judo federation as well as the Staiki National Olympic Training Center, and also the head coach, senior coaches of the national team and athletes.
The NOC head and the sports minister, together with the coaches and athletes, paid close attention to a range of issues concerning preparations for the upcoming major ranking tournaments, the 2026 World Judo Championships in Azerbaijan and the 2027 World Judo Championships in Kazakhstan, and also the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, which will be held from 14 to 30 July 2028.
The meeting participants addressed the pressing issue of providing medical support for judokas. Other topics were also touched upon, including plans to support youth sports and the training of coaching staff and specialists in the sport.
