Medal for Zalaty in the Netherlands

Yauheni Zalaty finished second in the men’s single sculls final at the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam.

Yauheni Zalaty launched his trademark sprint over the final 250 meters, but Germany’s Oliver Zeidler, who had led for most of the race, held on. The bronze went to Norway’s Jonas Slettemark Juel.

A year earlier, at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, Yauheni Zalaty had won bronze in the same boat class.

Belarusian NOC President Viktor Lukashenko congratulated Yauheni Zalaty on winning silver at the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam.

“Thanks to your perseverance, professionalism, and drive for constant growth, you have once again demonstrated the strong traditions of the Belarusian rowing school and brought joy to sports fans in our country.”

He wished the athlete robust health and the continued drive to shine on the highest podiums.
