Belarus NOC president sends 60th anniversary greetings to Republican State School of Olympic Reserve

President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko noted that over the years the Republican State School of Olympic Reserve, one of the country’s premier sports institutions, has nurtured a constellation of talented athletes who have achieved outstanding results.

“All these achievements have been made possible thanks to the selfless efforts of the athletes and the highest professionalism of the coaching and teaching staff of the school. It is the mentors, with their proven experience and unwavering dedication, who are the cornerstone of future achievements. You pass on not only skill to the younger generation but also forge an unyielding sporting character,” Viktor Lukashenko said in his congratulatory message.

He emphasized that today the school proudly continues its glorious traditions, meeting the most modern requirements.

“Thanks to the timely and substantial modernization of its infrastructure, the school has all the conditions for training sports talent pool of the highest caliber. I am confident that the solid foundation, the strong human resources potential and the wealth of experience will enable the Republican State School of Olympic Reserve to remain the flagship sporting education institution, adding to the prestige of national sport,” the congratulatory message reads.

The NOC head wished the staff and students continued success, good health, well-being, inexhaustible energy, and new resounding victories.

Students of the school have won more than 30 Olympic gold medals. The first Olympic champion among them was our renowned gymnast Antonina Koshel.

Over the years, the school has graduated such renowned athletes: six-time Olympic champion Vitaly Shcherbo, two-time Olympic champion Ekaterina Karsten, Olympic champions Hanna Huskova, Victoria Azarenka, Marina Lobatch, and Sergei Martynov and also Olympic medalists Liubou Charkashyna, Ksenia Sankovich, Siarhei Lishtvan, Mikhail Semyonov, and many others.
