Into the new academic year with Olympic spirit!

On Knowledge Day, 1 September, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Republic of Belarus hosted the Olympic Lesson 2026 for students of Minsk educational institutions.

Holding the event at the NOC headquarters in Belarus has become a good tradition. The participants were welcomed by Olympic canoe sprint champion Sergei Makarenko and Director of the Belarusian Olympic Academy Natalya Aponchuk.

“Traditionally, on 1 September, our lesson takes place in the Olympic Hall of Fame at the NOC of Belarus. Today we have teams from every district of Minsk competing for the title of best sports experts. Such events inspire young people to continue developing and achieving academic success throughout the year, while also encouraging them to take up physical activity. For example, this year there was high competition for admission to the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, especially for coaching specialties, and I believe the academy has also contributed to this over the years,” Natalya Aponchuk said.

The lesson took the form of an Olympic intellectual tournament, with nine teams of five participants each (students aged 14-16, five from each district of Minsk).

Winners and prize holders of the intellectual tournament:

2.Pervomaisky District

3.Partizansky District

All participants, including the winners and prize holders, received commemorative souvenirs from the organizers of the lesson: the Belarusian Olympic Academy and the NOC of Belarus.
