Sabalenka continues to lead the WTA Tennis singles ranking

Aryna Sabalenka continues to lead the WTA Tennis singles rankings as the world No. 1, holding the top spot with 8,550 points. She recently passed a milestone of over 100 weeks at the summit of women's tennis.

She set a decade record for matches won in the season. The victory over Chinese player Zhang Shuai – 6:3, 6:4 in Toronto – was Aryna's 25th out of 27 matches on hard courts in 2026.

Her only defeat on this surface was in the Australian Open final, and her second defeat was inflicted by Alexandrova on August 8 in Toronto.

As the Women's Tennis Association notes, this is the best result in the tour in the last 10 years. Previously, in 2016, Serena Williams achieved a similar result.
