The U20 European Wrestling Championships 2026 have wrapped up in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Team Belarus enjoyed a successful campaign, capturing four medals in total – two silvers and two bronzes.

Greco-Roman wrestlers Rasim Ibrahimau (60kg) and Kiryl Valeuski (82kg) both secured silver medals at the European championships.

Mikhail Markouski added a bronze to the team’s tally in the Greco-Roman 67kg division, while Valeryia Mikitsich claimed another bronze in the women’s 55kg wrestling event.

Three more Belarusian athletes fell just short of the podium after losing their bronze-medal matches: Varvara Aliseyenka (women’s 59kg), Aliaksandra Siamionava (women’s 76kg), and Artsiom Bolsun (freestyle 74kg).
The tournament’s officiating panel included a representative from Belarus – Ihar Bayarchuk from Grodno, a referee of Category I.
Congratulations to the athletes and the national team’s coaching staff on a great performance at the European Championships!
