Belarusian rower Tatsiana Klimovich qualifies for 2024 Paris Olympics

The World Rowing European Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta took place in Szeged, Hungary on 28 April.

Tatsiana Klimovich of Belarus won the women’s singles sculls to secure an Olympic berth. The Belarusian finished ten seconds ahead of the athletes from Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

As of 28 April, Belarus booked a total of 20 Olympic licenses.

Tatsiana Klimovich finished 13th in the Tokyo Olympics.

Alena Furman of Belarus secured a confident win in the lightweight women’s single sculls, a non-Olympic discipline. Margaret Cremen of Ireland finished 10 seconds behind to clinch silver. Kristyna Neuhortova of the Czech Republic placed third. For Alena Furman the victory at the European Rowing Championships became the third gold in her career following her successes in 2018 and 2021.

The Final Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta will be hosted in Lucerne on 19-21 May.

The rowing competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 3 August at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Ile-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne, 39km from the Olympic and Paralympic villages.
