The NOC reveals the team list of the Belarusian sports delegation for the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio 2016 (the Federative Republic of Brazil).

The team of 123 athletes, who won the licenses, and 57 coaches will go to Rio.Outstanding Belarusian Olympians will compete for medals in Rio 2016: champions of the previous Games Ekaterina Karsten (rowing) and Max Mirnyi (tennis), silver medalist Alexandra Gerasimenya (swimming), bronze medalists Julia Bichek (rowing), Marina Lytvynchuk and Olga Khudenko (both - rowing), Ivan Tsikhan (athletics). For the two-time Olympic champion Ekaterina Karsten these Olympics will be the seventh in her career. In Women’s Singles Ekaterina gained brilliant victories at the Games in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, won a silver in Athens 2004 and a bronze in Beijing 2008. In the race of Quadruple Sculls she went up the third step of the pedestal as part of the CIS team in Barcelona 1992. Shooting athlete Siarhei Martynau, the flag bearer of the Belarusian delegation and the Olympic champion, will act in Rio as a coach. Olympic Games medalists Siarhei Smal (Freestyle Wrestling) and Ihar Basinski (Shooting) will also act as coaches.
