Rio 2016. Javid Hamzatau took bronze medal

Today on August 15 Belarus’ wrestler of Greco-Roman style Javid Hamzatau (weight category -85kg) won a bronze medal, according to the NOC of Belarus.

Javid overwhelmed his Bulgarian opponent Nikolai Bairyakov with the score 3-1.

"I set a goal to win a gold medal. I was upset, because I was sure I deserved it. It seems to me that the reazon I have failed in match with Zhan Beleniuk is the referees' mistake. Ahead of the fight for a bronze I felt confident that I wouldn't let down the Belarusian supporters", - said Hamzatau.

Zhan Beleniuk prevailed Hamzatau in the semifinal, but later lost himself to his Russian counterpart Davit Chakvetadze (1:3). Another bronze medal left to German Denis Kudla, who won Hungarian Viktor Lorinzc (3:1). 

Now the National Team counts 5 awards: a gold medal (U. Hancharou, Trampoline), two silver (D. Naumava and V. Straltsou, Weightlifting) and two bronze ones (A. Herasimenia, Swimming; Javid Hamzatau, Wrestling Greco-Roman).
