Belarusian Yauheni Tsikhantsou won a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in Thailand

At the World Weightlifting Forum in Pattaya, Belarusian athlete in the weight category up to 102 kg confidently performed in two exercises.

He showed the result of 180 kg and took second place in the protocol. In the second event - clean and jerk - Yauheni Tsikhantsou from the third attempt was able to cope with the weight of the barbell 218 kg and took first place at the World Championship - 398 kg. Silver by JIN Yunseong from the Republic of Korea - 397 kg (181 kg + 216 kg), Reza Dehdar (Iran) - 394 kg (175 kg + 219 kg) became the bronze medalist.

In the current season, Yauheni Tsikhantsou won a gold medal at the European Championships in Batumi with a result of 400 kg (178 +222 kg).

The World Weightlifting Championships will continue on 26 September. Olympic champion Andrei Aramnau will be into the court in the category of up to 109 kg.
