Belarus’ Furman, Klimovich win bronze at World Rowing Championships in Shanghai

Alena Furman and Tatsiana Klimovich of Belarus finished third at the World Rowing Championships.

The Belarusian double sculls team posted a time of 6:53.26 in Shanghai, placing behind the Netherlands (6:49.34) and China (6:50.22).

In a separate event, Yauheni Zalaty looked impressive in winning his semifinal heat. He now advances to the final on 28 September (9:30 a.m.), where the Olympic silver medalist will face a strong field from lane three, including Germany’s Oliver Zeidler, the Netherlands’ Simon van Dorp, and Greece’s Stefanos Ntouskos.

NOC President Viktor Lukashenko congratulated members of the national rowing team, Alena Furman and Tatsiana Klimovich, on winning bronze at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai.

The president of the NOC highlighted the double sculls team’s cohesive teamwork, exceptional professionalism, and unwavering determination, attributes that – complemented by the guidance of seasoned coaches – culminated in a superb result.

The accompanying message read: “May today’s success, this bronze at the World Championships, serve as a new and brilliant step, inspiring you and the younger generation of rowers on the journey to the sport’s highest Olympic summits.”
