As reported by NOC, the Ist European Games have already become history. Games were held in Baku (Azerbaijan) for over 17 days from 12 to 28 June 2015.

More than 6000 athletes for 17 days competed in 20 sports, including 16 Olympic. On the 12 sports were qualified to the Olympics 2016.

Belarus submitted 149 athletes in the following disciplines:
- Water sports: diving, swimming, synchronized swimming;
- Archery;
- Badminton;
- Boxing;
- Canoe sprint;
- Cycling: road cycling;
- Fencing;
- Gymnastics: artistic, trampoline, acrobatics;
- Judo;
- Karate;
- Sambo;
- Table tennis;
- Taekwondo;
- Triathlon;
- Volleyball: beach volleyball;
- Wrestling: freestyle wrestling, greco-roman wrestling;
Competed for the awards of the tournament the team leader - winners and medalists of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships.

Belarus Team won 43 medals: 10 gold, 11 silver, 22 bronze. In the medal standings Belarusian team takes the 7th place.
MEN – 21 medals (4-8-9) – eighth place.
WOMEN – 22 (6-3-13) – fifth place.
The leaders in the team competition became national teams of Russia, Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.

Representatives of the 13 disciplines won medals for Belarus. Most of the team Sambo - 7 medals (2-2-3). Also piggy bank of our country refilled: rhythmic gymnastics – 6 (1-1-4), canoe sprint – 5 (3-0-2), shooting- 4 (1-0-3), freestyle wrestling -5 (1-1-3), cycling – 2 (0-0-0), greco-roman wrestling – 4 (0-2-2), archery – 2 (0-1-1), acrobatics -3 (0-0-3), boxing – 1 (0-1-0), trampoline – 3 (0-2-1), swimming – 1 (0-1-0), table tennis – 1 (0-1-0).
No any medals in the next sports: beach volleyball, artistic gymnastics, judo, synchronized swimming, diving, triathlon, fencing, badminton, karate, taekwondo.
The Belarusian team record holder of gold medals became Maryna Litvinchuk – canoe sprint (kayak). She won the 5000 meters kayak single (K1) and 200 meters kayak double (K2) (with Marharyta Makhneva).
Record holder in the number of medals is Melitina Stanyuta – rhythmic gymnastics – 4 medals: 1 silver and 3 bronze.


The most beautiful victory at the Ist European Games - Stsiapan Papou - sambo (74kg). Belarusian won a beautiful and strong-willed victory over the Azerbaijan rival, then showed gesture FairPlay and bear an injured opponent from the mat.
Belarusian synchronized swimmers Hanna Shulhina and Daminika Tsyplakova were the first athletes who performed at the European Games 2015. According to the official draws competition they started in the free routine of duets.
European Games in Baku, covered by around 3.000 journalists (900 of them foreign), and provides 50 television and radio companies broadcast worldwide.
At the first European games in Baku officially accredited representatives of Belarusian journalists who were from the following organizations:

- Magazine Wrestling.by;

In Belarus the right to host TV broadcast owned National Broadcasting Company. Daily broadcasting was about 8 hours.

The decision to hold the European Games was made in December 2012 at the 41-st General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees. 84 percent of countries have supported this decision. The tournament will become traditional and will be organized every 4 years. The First European Games held in Baku (Azerbaijan) from 12 to 28 June 2015. And to prepare for it at the organizing committee was only 2.5 years as opposed to the Olympic Games, the capital of which is announced for 7 years prior to the competition. Next Capital European Games-2019 will be announced by the end of this year.
The competitions were held in Baku on 18 arenas in four zones: a cluster of villages, cluster flag, city cluster and western arenas.
For living of nine thousand athletes and officials it was built Olympic village of 13 houses, where there are 1042 apartments, each with 3-4 bedrooms for 2 persons. In total there will be able to accommodate 7718 people. Nearby it is also a media village, where the journalist lives. Athletes who will compete in canoeing (sprint), lived in a separate village. It was built in 228 kilometers from Baku and in 7 kilometers of the channel.
In the villages, it was created all the infrastructure: shops, laundry, entertainment centers, dining rooms and cafes.
