Today, the 18th of February, the competitions of the 7th day of the Youth Olympic games take place. Only two Belarusian sportsmen participate in the tournament on Thursday, who perform in skiing race (freestyle). The NOC press center reports.

At the 5-kilometres race Anna Koroleva performed the 12th result from 39 participants among women. Her time is 13.59.6.

-Was trying to show the maximum at all the distances,- said Anna after finishing.- Im’ glad that at the «five» (5-kilometres race) got the 12th result although I always want to show better result. The competition of these Games are interesting and difficult. I used to compete with the competitresses of the Old World last year at the European youth Olympic festival. Here I see the best of the best form all over the world. I gained good competitive experience , which will be useful for me further.

The top 3 are: 1. Maya Yakunina (Russia)- 12:58.8, 2.Ksyunkse Chi (China)- 13:29.9, 3. Rebekka Immonen (Finland)- 13:35.9.

At the men competition at a 10-kilometres distance Timur Laskin finished the 19th from 50 skiers. His record is 25:40.3.

-I placed a bet on this certain distance,- Timur Laskin said. – this Olympic games were interesting and useful for me. The participation in such a competition is motivating , helps to understand how to get ready not only physically, but mentally. You understand how you should train what advantages and disadvantages you have. I will make all the efforts possible to perform high results in future.

The top 3 are: 1.Magnus Kim (Korean Republic) – 23:04,08, 2.Verbieren Hegdal (Norway) , 3. Igor Fedotov (Russia) – 23:59.2.

Information:
The second Youth Olympic Games take place from 12 till 21 of February 2016 in Lillehammer (Norway).
More 1000 athletes participate In the competitions in 15 sports at the age of 15-18, who represent 71 countries of the world.
16 belarusian athletes (8 men, 8 women) participate in 7 events : biathlon, alpine skiing , cross country skiing , speed skating , snowboarding ( slope - style ) , skating ( ice dancing ) , ice hockey ( individual skills ) .
Also at the behest of the IOC in Lillehammer a young ambassador and a reporter.
One of the reporters whose name is Polina Golovina (Ignatenko) who took a training course during the summer Youth Olympic Games in Nankin, got the Top15 and was invited to take part in Lillehammer-2016 as a photographer.
Anastasia Lesik who participated during the first Youth Olympic Games in Insbruk in mountain skiing. Now she is working in Lillehammer as a young ambassador of cultural and educational program of the IOC.
