According to the press service of the NOC, the fifth day of competition at the Winter Youth Olympic Games takes place today, February 16.
Figure Skating: Free Dance

The Belarusian couple took the 6th place in short programme and free skating.
Today, Emilia Kalehanava and Uladzislau Palkhouski competed in the free dance, where they finished 6th (108.12). Our couple also finished 6th in the short programme.
Our athletes are to compete in mixed NOC team competition on February 20.
- I am not very satisfied with my performance as I made a mistake on twizzles – said Emilia Kalehanava. - I think we would have gotten higher points. It is a great experience to perform in this competition. I hope that if we get to compete at the Winter Olympic Games, we would have similar atmosphere there. Every athlete dreams of taking part in such competition.
The Games in Lillehammer are beautiful and well-organized, - said Uladzislau Palkhouski. - Although we are familiar with all competitors and their performance in the Grand Prix series, we were still nervous. We will compete in the eighth group called Hope in mixed NOC team competition. Thanks to everyone who cheers for us!


Cross-Country Skiing: Sprint Classic
Hanna Karaliova came in 20th in qualification contest (3:42.32) and finished among the 30 strongest athletes who continued to compete in the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Hanna finished 4th in 3:37.74, which wasn’t enough to compete in the semifinals.
Tsimur Laskin came in 23th in qualification contest (3:10.42) and finished among the 30 strongest athletes who continued to compete in the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Tsimur finished 4th (3:09.11) and didn’t qualify for the semifinals.
