
On 2 August, Belarusian athletes did well in the qualifications in canoe sprint and women's pole vault at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Yury Shcherbatsevich advanced into the Men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions.

The native of Brest eased through the qualifications and was among intermediate leaders in the final. After the seventh attempt his total score was 406.3 points while the winning result was a world record of 466.0.

Maryna Litvinchuk and Volha Khudzenka advanced into the Women’s K2 500m semifinal. In the preliminary heat the Belarusians were second only to Hungary.
Aleh Yurenia made it to the Men's K-1000m semifinal being the best in his heat. The semifinals and the final will take place at the Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo on 3 August.

Heavy rain changed plans for the Pole Vault Event. The participants hoped to show much better results, but 4.55 m was enough for many to qualify for the final. Among them was Iryna Zhuk who will compete for the medal on 5 August.
A group of athletes have finished their performance at the Games today.
Vasilisa Marzaliuk lost to Zhou Qian of China in the Women's Freestyle 76kg Repechage. Hammer throwers Ivan Tsikhan, Hleb Dudarau and Yury Vasilchanka did not make it to the top 12 who will continue their Olympic medal run.
Alexandre Zelenko could not perform in the Individual Eventing final due to an injury of his horse Carlo Grande. After the ultrasound examination the vets ruled out Carlo Grande’s further performance.
