BelTA reports: «Scarcely had the National Championship in Athletics ended, the Belarusian Athletics Federation made up the away-team of Belarus for participation in the European Indoor Championship 2015, which will be held from 5th to 8th of March in Prague».
The men’s team includes Constantine Borichevsky (long jump), Alexander Linnik (400-meter dash), Maxim Lynsha, Vital Parakhonko (60 meters hurdles), Pavel Lyzhin (shot-put), Maxim Nesterenko and Dmitry Plotnitsky (triple jump). The women’s team will be performed by Elena Abramchuk, Julia Leontyuk (shot-put), Natalia Vyatkina (triple jump), Svetlana Kudelitch (3000-meter run), Yana Maximova, Ekaterina Netsvetaeva (pentathlon), Anastasia Mironchik-Ivanova (long jump) and Alina Talay (60 meters hurdles).
There in the BAF BelTA informs that sportsmen from Brest region won in the team event of the Belarusian Open Indoor Championship in Athletics for the prize of the newspaper “Sportivnaya panorama”, which took place in Mogilev SC “Olympian”. They scored 342.5 points, having surpassed their rivals from Vitebsk and Grodno regions, who scored 265.5 and 258 points respectively.
During the contest, Svetlana Kudelitch set a record in 3000-meter run (8.55.96 min), representing the team of Brest region. Several participants not only won, but also made their personal records. So did Sergey Litovchik, the triumphant of 3000-meter steeplechase (8.36.74 min) and Irina Yakoltsevitch, who showed the best result in the pole-vaulting competition (4.20 meters). In the pole-vaulting event for men in commemoration of V.G. Bulatov Dmitry Gaschuk took first place (5.00 meters). Dmitry Plotnitsky did his best in triple jump with the result of 16.56 meters as well as his counterpart from the women’s team Natalia Vyatkina (14.09 meters).
The second year in a row Alexander Lyahovich takes premier place in the National Championship in 10 kilometers race walk (40.39.98 min). In the same event for women prevailed Darya Bolkunets (45.59.61 min). In the high jump contest Artyom Naumovich (2.20 meters) and Taisia Roslova (1.80 metres) were the best, though the latter result was impressive in no way.
Young runner Anastasia Puzakova, the winner of 3000-meter steeplechase (10.07.20 min), was partially dissatisfied with her results. Outstanding shot-put sportsmen Pavel Lyzhin and Julia Leontyuk proved to be the strongest in Belarus (20.03 and 19 meters accordingly). Julia’s principal rivals Elena Abramchuk and Victoria Kolb took second and third places. The same situation occurred during the final 60 meters hurdles relay, when Alina Talay (7.31 sec) outfooted both the Olympic champion in 100-meter dash Julia Nesterenko (7,38 sec) and the participant of World and European Championships Ekaterina Gonchar (7.42 sec) right by the finish line. As a result, Alina become an undisputed leader of the race. She repeated her achievement (7.88 sec) on her favourite distance, which recently considered to be the best, until Sherica Nelvis showed the better result (7.87 sec).
Concerning sprint achievements on the Championship, Ilia Sirotkin (6.81 sec) managed to come out victorious in spite of being sick. Maxim Lynsha also gained the upper hand in 60-meter hurdles race.
