The agreement envisages an exchange of experience in training athletes, coaches, and technical personnel. According to Chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation Alexander Shakutin, cooperation will be long-term and will also include Russian consultations in respect to international structures. “The Russian Tennis Federation has an expanded scientific and medical base and is ready to share its latest achievements in training Belarusian athletes and coaches. We appreciate this support of our Russian counterparts. I am confident that together we will be able to prepare a new generation of great players,” Alexander Shakutin said.

The heads of the two federations discussed the training of young athletes. “Russia and Belarus have preserved their Soviet-time tennis school. The memorandum will help outline a development strategy for this sport with the state's support. This is something other countries cannot boast of. Training technologies in modern tennis are well-known. However, this is the only sport which does not fall within the standards of the training process. The game has no time limit. Today a tennis racket is a product of high technologies which have greatly increased speed of movement on court. We are ready to share our experience in training young players with the Belarusian side,” President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishcev said.

The president of the Russian Tennis Federation also congratulated Belarus' women's national team on the victory and advancement to the Federation Cup final which will be held in Minsk in November this year.

As it was reported, the Belarusian Tennis Federation has signed an agreement of cooperation with colleagues from Switzerland. In the coming year, eight tennis centers will be set up in Minsk with the active participation of the BTF. Two of them will be built with the support of the state.

“The land plots have been allocated already. Two of the centers will be build with the financial assistance from the budget. A large tennis center will be built at the sports center Serebryanka; the existing center in Zhudro street will be expanded. There will be set up six more private clubs. Tennis centers are built in the regions as well. Clay courts in Solnecnoye near Volozhin have won a reputation already. Centers will be set up in Lida and Grodno,” Alexander Shakutin noted.
