Minsk 2019. Belarus freestyle wrestler Aliaksandr Hushtyn won bronze at 2nd European Games

On June 27, wrestlers compete for yet another sets of awards. Aliaksandr Hushtyn secured a bronze medal in Men’s Freestyle -97kg.

The preliminary round in this weight class took place a day earlier. Aliaksandr advanced in the tournament bracket but lost in Semi-Finals which allowed him to compete in the bronze-medal round. There he outpointed North Macedonia’s Magomedgadji Nurov (3-1) by fulfilling blistering attacking moves during the last minute.

«I had faith in myself, and I was looking forward to good finish. I tried to save strength at the start of the bout. The stands helped me a lot, they supported and inspired me. But for them I wouldn’t have won this medal. This is the forth time I competed against Magomedgadgi and the fourth time I beat him» – said Aliaksandr.
