On June 22, the second day of the competitions at the 2nd European Games, competitions in sambo wrestling took place. Anzhela Zhylinskaya won second gold for Belarus in the women’s -72kg final.
In the final bout with Georgia’s Nino Odzelashvili the Belarusian athlete was declared a winner due to the rival’s injury – 0:2.
Anzhela Zhylinskaya: “It is very pleasant to yield the results of my training work. In general, the competition day went well. I can say that it was my day. The European Games are the unity of all nations and the world between them. I think we will celebrate the medal with my family: my husband and daughter.”

Earlier this day, Anastasia Arkhipova lost the fight for gold in the women’s -56 kg final, claiming silver. The Russian athlete Tatiana Kazeniuk won gold with a 0:8 win over.
Anastasia Arkhipova: “Now it’s foolish to look for any excuses. Let's just say, today my opponent had her day, unlike me. Of course, you always count on winning, otherwise there’s no point in going to the carpet. But today it turned out the way it did.”

Congratulations to the athlete and the whole Belarusian sambo team!
