
On January 12 belarusian athletes at the III Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne performed at a biathlon, speed skating and 3x3 hockey competitions.
A single mixed relay took place at the Le Tuffes Biathlon Center, in which Andrei Haurosh and the bronze medalist of the individual 10 km race in Lausanne- Yuliya Kavaleuskaya. Both represented the Belarusian team. The Belarusian duo with two mistakes finished 12th. The French team celebrated the victory, Italy took second place, and the biathletes from Sweden won bronze.

Sprint races 500m were held in St. Moritz. The highest place among Belarusian skaters was taken by Karyna Shypulia – 20th position in the protocol (43,70 sec.). Varvara Bandaryna is on the 26th place (44,06 seconds), and Isabelle Grevelt from the Netherlands (40,57 seconds) took first place.
In the men's competitions the best athlete was Yudai Yamamamoto (36,42 seconds). Belarusian Max Fiodarau took 25th place (39,65 seconds), Andrei Herman according to the results of the 500 m race took 27th (40,35 seconds). Skating competitions on the frozen lake in St. Moritz will continue on January 13 – 1500m starts for boys and girls.
The preliminary part of the hockey 3x3 tournament is nearing completion. After three competitive days, the “green” team is beyond comparison, Belarusian Illia Korzun is also part of this team. On January 12 the leaders of the standings defeated the “blue” team (11:6) and “grey” team (14:6) and they confidently lead the table with 14 points apart.
“We are satisfied with the victory, especially satisfied with the second and third periods where we performed against the "grey" team. I scored two goals, our teammates well fit together. We have no defeats and will try to continue the victorious tradition in Lausanne,” – said Illia Korzun.
Yan Shostak's “orange” team is also close to be in semifinals, beating Daniil Karpovich's “black” team (14:8).
The "yellow" hockey team, which colors are defended by Andrei Murashka, also retain chances to be the semifinals. Before the final day of the preliminary stage, the “yellow” team beat the “blue” team (13:8).
“We succeeded a lot in the game today. We had problems with the blade of the skates, we must be more careful. Our team is close-knit, getting ready for two final games. We have already played against our players, Belarusians. Illia Korzun has a strong team, but it’s still fells strange to go be on the ice against his guys in international matches,” said Andrei Murashka.

On January 13 at the hockey tournament, young fans who liked the proposed 3x3 game format showed their support of the international teams.
On January 13 the hockey players will determine the quartet of teams that will continue to fight for rewards in the semifinals on January 14, and the final and match for 3rd place will be held at Vaudoise arena on January 15.
