Belarusian alpine skier Maryia Shkanava has taken the 23rd place in slalom at the World Cup stage, which has taken place in Zagreb today, and scored her first points in the overall ranking.

With two attempts made, Maryia Shkanava’s has resulted in 2 min. 09,4 sec. The best result among women belongs Veronika Velez-Zuzulová from Slovakia - 2 min. 02,53 sec.
Having made mistakes while passing the distance, several famous skiers have failed to finish successfully: Michaela Kirchgasser from Austria, Sofia Goggia from Italy, and leader of the overall ranking of the World Cup Michaela Shiffrin from the USA.
It has been the second World Cup stage for Belarusian Shkanava. At the end of December in Semmering, Austria, she had acted in giant slalom, but couldn’t have qualified for her second attempt. Then, she failed to finish in slalom.
On completion of the Zagreb stage, Maria Shkanova has scored eight points for the overall ranking of the World Cup and now takes the 93th place in rating. The leading position in the ranking of the World Cup in alpine skiing takes Michaela Shiffrin with 798 points.
