Yuri Shevtsov’s men edged the Russian national team 32-31 to clinch gold in the Handball Friendship Cup in Moscow.

Vladislav Khmelkov, scoring seven goals, was named the most valuable player of the match.

Iran beat the Russian junior team 29-27. After suffering a defeat from Belarus, the Iranian team stunned the Russian national team 29-26 and finished in the second position.
