The national handball team of Belarus overmatched Hungarians and burst into the 1/8 final of the World Championship passing in Rouen, France.

The last match within preliminary Group C ended with a score of 27:25 (15:13) for Belarus. Ivan Brouka and Barys Pukhouski tossed as many as six balls each in the Hungarian net.
The Belarusian goal composition: Andrei Yurynok – 4, Dzianis Rutenka, Artsem Karalek, Viachyslau Kulesh – 3, Siarhei Shylovich – 2.
The Group C standings: Germany – 10 points, Croatia – 8, Belarus – 4, Hungary – 4, Saudi Arabia – 2, Chile – 2.
On January 22 Belarus plays with Sweden in the 1/8 final.
Play-off matches are scheduled for 21 and 22 of January, semifinals – 26 and 27 of January, and title match and game for the bronze are planned for January 29 in Paris.
