Baku-2019. Volleyball. Belarusian team was in the semifinals of the EYOF

On July 24, volleyball players of the national team of Belarus (U-18) held the third group match at the tournament of the European Youth Olympic Festival. In a hard-fought struggle, they won the German team - 3: 1. The victory over the national team of Azerbaijan helped Alexei Kovalev's wards to reach the semifinal.

Belarus - Germany - 3: 1 (24:26, 25:21, 25:19, 25:19).

“This game was decisive for us. Understood: If we win, there will be a chance to compete for medals. In the final of the last European Championship, just the German team lost 1: 3. So we can assume that as a result, they did repay them”, said Evgeny Gretsky.

“We were tuned in a military manner. At times, something didn’t work out, but we didn’t panic and supported each other. We have succeeded. In certain moments I could play better. After the first batch, the coach sorted out our mistakes. In general, we are satisfied with the result”, said Egor Kovalev.
