Weightlifter Darya Naumava will become the flag bearer on the BRICS

Weightlifter Darya Naumava will become the flag bearer of the Belarusian delegation at the opening ceremony of the BRICS Games.

Darya Naumava is a silver medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2018 World Championships, as well as the 2019 European champion. The opening ceremony of the BRICS Games will be held today at the Kazan Expo IEC, starting at 19.00. Many Belarusian athletes have already reached the venue of one of the main starts of the season: synchronized swimming, weightlifting, sambo and wushu teams have arrived in the capital of Tatarstan. Competitions in these sports will start tomorrow.

In total, more than five thousand athletes from 93 countries will take part in the BRICS Games in Kazan, who will compete for 392 sets of medals. The Belarusian delegation included more than 600 people - about 400 athletes, as well as coaches, judges, heads and representatives of federations. The BRICS Games will last until June 23.
