Viktor Lukashenko congratulates Belarus’ biathletes on Commonwealth Cup victories

Viktor Lukashenko congratulated Anton Smolski and the national biathlon team on their victories and podium finishes at the Commonwealth Cup leg in Raubichi.

“Anton, you have once again proven that you rightfully wear the unofficial title of team captain. Through your skill, composure, perseverance, and your teammates’ support, you reached the top of the podium and strengthened your lead in the Commonwealth Cup overall,” he said.



The Belarus’ NOC head said that the medals won by Belarusian biathletes at the home leg, including in the mixed relay, hold special value and don’t always come easy, emphasizing that together, greater achievements are always possible:

“Respect, mutual assistance, and team spirit - these are what make you stronger, inspire victories, and genuinely amaze your fans. Dzmitry Lazouski’s act of ‘fair play’ was a brilliant demonstration of courage and strong friendship, showing that the Belarusian ‘team of wizards’ is a true family! We are all immensely proud of you!”

Viktor Lukashenko expressed his wish for the team to always stay this tightly-knit, and for their future to hold further success and many spectacular wins.
