Belarusian fans will remember 4 August at the Games in Tokyo for the great performance of Iryna Kurachkina (women's wrestling). The Belarusian gave everyone a lot of positive emotions as she reached the +57kg final. On her way to the final match Kurachkina defeated India's Anshu Malik, Russian Valeria Koblova and Bulgarian Evelina Georgieva Nikolova.

"It was a good day, but nothing is over here in Tokyo. I liked how I did my three bouts on 4 August: I was calm and confident. Russian Valeria Koblova was strong, but I knew what to do and seized the advantage. Now I need to have a good rest and focus on tomorrow's fight. Each of us came here for victories and is not going to stop halfway," said Iryna Kurachkina after the victorious semifinal match.

Vasilina Khandoshka and Darya Kulagina finished 11th in the Artistic Swimming Duet final. Russia's Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Svetlana Romashina became the Olympic champions in the event.

"We did a good job in Tokyo. Perhaps the result was not as high as it was at the European championships. But you must understand that the opponents at the Olympics were uber prepared. We, together with the coaches, will analyze everything, and will make the program more difficult in order to achieve high results at the next major international tournament,” Vasilina Khandoshka said after Belarus’ performance.

At the Sea Forest Waterway the Belarusian canoe sprint team did well in the qualification, and will compete for awards on 5 August.
