The Belarus President's Hockey Team won the Christmas ice hockey tournament

On the final match of the XVI Christmas ice hockey tournament for the prize of the President of Belarus the host team played against the Russian team and won – 4:1.

Aleksei Baranov, Mikhail Grabovsky, Alexander Kulakov as well as Andrey Glebov from Belarus scored a goal in the match.

Aleksei Sergievsky from the Russian team and Igor Brikun from the Belarusian team were acclaimed the best players of the finals. The awards to the distinguished hockey players were presented by the Minister of Sport and Tourism of Belarus – Siarhei Kavalchuk.

The best goalkeeper of the Christmas tournament were Maxim Serov (Russia), the defender – Aleksei Baranov, the forward – Mikhail Grabovsky (both are from the team of the President of Belarus). The best scorer of the competition was the captain of the Finnish national team Tony Makiaho.

Both teams played confidently at the preliminary stage of the competition. The Belarus President's Hockey Team defeated the teams of IIHF (11:3) and the USA team (9:3). In the semifinals, the UAE team was outplayed (9:5).

The team of the United Arab Emirates became the bronze medalist of the tournament and they also were stronger than the Finland team in the match for bronze – 3:2.

The Belarus President's Hockey Team won the Christmas ice hockey tournament for the 13^th time. Earlier, the Belarusian team took the first place in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The Russian team celebrated victory three times: in 2007, 2011 and 2015.

The competition was organized by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus, the Presidential Sports Club, Minsk City Executive Committee.
