Team Belarus win 122 medals at 3rd CIS Games

The Belarusian athletes made the podium in every discipline they competed in. The team’s total haul consists of 32 gold, 38 silver, and 52 bronze medals.

The most medals (35) were won in swimming (4-15-16). Usevalad Sarakavik secured two victories at the 3rd CIS Games. Canoe and kayak athletes led the gold medal count with 9, adding one silver and one bronze each to their tally. Emil Abalmasau and Artsiom Vaitseshyn were both triple gold medalists. Trampolinists secured a haul of six gold and one silver, highlighted by Yana Lebedeva’s triple crown.

In the overall medal standings, Belarus placed third among 13 participating countries. The delegation from Russia topped the standings with 231 medals (130-61-40), followed by the host nation Azerbaijan with 184 medals (33-56-95).

President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko congratulated athletes and coaches on their successful performance at the 3rd CIS Games.

Viktor Lukashenko noted that the Belarusians demonstrated a high level of training and confirmed their status as one of the strongest teams in the CIS.

“At the 3rd CIS Games, Belarusian athletes won 122 medals, 32 of which are gold medals and placed third in the medal standings. Your talent, hard training, and dedication have become the key to success. I would like to extend gratitude to the coaches and administrative personnel of the teams. Without your selflessness, patience, and dedication, our athletes would not have achieved such outstanding results,” the NOC head said.

The head of the National Olympic Committed wished the athletes good health, luck, brilliant successes on the path to achieving their cherished dreams and the conquest of even greater sporting heights.
