Belarus’ National Olympic Committee played host to a dialogue platform titled “Sport - Your Foothold for Future Victories!” on 26 February.
Olympic champions Sergei Makarenko and Yulia Nestsiarenka and also Sviatlana Sakhanenka, three-time champion of the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in cross-country, came to meet with students from Minsk schools.

Participants were addressed by Ksenia Sankovich, Secretary General of the NOC of Belarus, two-time Olympic medalist in rhythmic gymnastics.

“
For the majority of today's schoolchildren present in this hall, sport has already become a foothold in life, and for some it has long turned into a reliable life foundation. Our famous athletes who are here today have enormous experience; it is at the NOC forums that they share their stories of how sport influenced their lives. I am confident that the event participants learn a lot of important things for themselves, regardless of whether they aspire to conquer the Olympic podium or simply lead a healthy lifestyle. I hope that this project will continue and will help our children become more confident, goal-oriented, and closer to their cherished dreams,” Ksenia Sankovich said.
More than 150 senior students from Minsk schools attended the dialogue platform, including those actively involved in sports at sports schools and clubs and those interested in harmonious personal development.

The young people were also gifted the new edition “Rules of Life of Belarusian Athletes”. The book is of interest to young athletes, as well as to anyone striving for growth and self-improvement.

The main goal of the event was to demonstrate to students how sport helps form an effective life strategy, both directly within the sports domain and beyond it. The schoolchildren received recommendations on skillfully combining studies and training, unlocking leadership potential, managing time and emotional state and understanding the importance of choosing the right professional path.
The information and educational project was organized jointly with the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the Minsk City Institute for Educational Development and the Belarusian Olympic Academy, with the support of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
