Smolski wins silver at Russian Winter Spartakiad in Zlatoust

Anton Smolski of Belarus secured the Men’s 20km Individual silver at the 2024 Russian Winter Spartakiad of Best Athletes in Zlatoust.

Anton Smolski shot clean to finish second, behind Evgenii Sidorov of Russia. Bronze went to Russia’s Vasily Tomshin.

“I'm happy with my shooting. I was faster on my skis than in the previous races. I guess it was all about the weather: when it's warmer, the body works better and the skis go smoother. I'm happy with my performance on the shooting range and on the track. My current state, however, still does not let me show my best on the track. I hope that very soon I will get into the top shape to compete against Eduard Latypov,” Anton Smolski said on Match TV. “Now it’s my turn to look after our son. I will go home and watch my wife, Dzinara, perform on the track. I wish her to do well and to enjoy a long-awaited return to biathlon.”
