Olympic medalists victorious at Medved Wrestling Grand Prix in Minsk

The 52nd International Freestyle Wrestling Grand Prix for the prizes of three-time Olympic champion Aleksandr Medved completed in the Minsk Palace of Sports on 27 November.

Belarusian wrestlers graced the top of the podium eight times. Magomedhabib Kadimagomedov, the Tokyo Games silver medalist, claimed gold in the 74kg event. Iryna Kurachkina proved stronger over Marina Simonyan from Russia in the 57kg event.

Belarusian athletes won a total of 24 medals at the tournament, including 8 gold, 5 silver and 11 bronze medals.

The Grand Prix champion titles were also secured by Dimchik Batomunkuev (57kg), Nyurgun Skryabin (65kg), Viyaleta Rebikava (50kg), Marta Hetmanava (53kg), Veronika Ivanova (62kg) and Viktoria Radkova (72kg).
