Notes:

Alexander Vladimirovich Popov (February 22, 1965, Tobolsk) – soviet and Belarusian biathlete. He competed for “Dynamo” (Sverdlovsk), since 1989 – for Minsk (Belarus).

Olympic champion of 1988 in 4x7,5 km relay. Silver medalist of 1992 Winter Olympics in 4x7,5 relay. Four-time world champion in team event. Silver medalist of World Cup (1989) in overall standings. European champion of 1995 in relay.

Champion of the Soviet Union 1985 in individual race (10 km), 1987 in team event (25 km), 1986, 1988 in relay. The winner of USSR Winter Spartakiad 1986.

The graduator of the Sverdlovsk Fire School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (1985), Tobolsk Teachers Training College (1994)

In 1998-1999 – the head coach of youth biathlon team of Belarus.

In 1999-2007 – the head coach of National biathlon team of Belarus.

In 2007-2010 – the head coach of men’s biathlon team of Belarus.

Since 2010 – the head coach of men’s cross-country skiing team of Belarus.

The flag-bearer of the Olympic team of Belarus at the opening ceremony of 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
