Final Ice Hockey qualifications for Olympics to take place on September 1-4 in Minsk

Final Ice Hockey qualifications for the Winter Olympic Games 2018 will be held on September 1-4 in Minsk. Apart from Belarus (IIHF rating – 9), there in Group D will compete national teams from Slovenia (14), Denmark (15), and Poland (22). The winner will be admitted to try his best at the Winter Olympic Games PyeongChang 2018.

The qualifying tournament is labeled with a special emblem designed on the basis of the Ice Hockey Federation of the Republic of Belarus’ brand: a puck sliding on the ice surface. Its combination with the Belarusian ornament produces the unique and intriguing image, which perfectly reflects national flair, identity, and exceptionalism, as well as vigour and masculinity of the sport. Choice of the emblem colours was made with intention to bring together all the flags of the participating countries. With a black puck added to the flags, the emblem reminds the Olympic rings. It donates every national team of the Group with its own distinctive markings, which underscore national character and individuality.
