The Belarusian national women’s U-18 volleyball team successfully overcame the qualifying round for the final stage of the European Championship.

In the final third match within Group B Natalia Melaniuk’s team was stronger than the volleyball players of Israel - 3:0 (25:13, 25:19, 25:16).

The game was a success for Belarusian athletes. The leaders of the attack Tatsiana Kholad and Hanna Hryshkevich confidently held a game and scored 13 and 15 goals, respectively. The last meeting winners were extremely effective playing in serve. Earlier in Milan tournament, girls proved to be stronger than Slovakians (3:2) and Italians (3:1). The Group B runners-up Italy would also go for the European Championship, having won the team of Slovakia 3:0.

Overall standings: 1. Belarus - 8 points/3 matches. 2. Italy - 6/3. 3. Slovakia - 4/3. 4. Israel - 0/3.

Winners of the eight qualifying groups enter the EuroChamp. Apart from Belarus, the winning eight include Serbia, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Germany, Greece and Bulgaria, as well as the three best teams that took second place: Romania, Italy, and Slovenia. The European Women’s U-18 Championship will be held from 1 to 9 of April, in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
