Belarusian swimmers Pavel Sankovich, Ilya Shimanovich, Anton Latkin and Yevgeny Tsurkin took third place in the 4×50 m medley relay (25 m pool) at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Windsor, Canada.

The team swam across the pool in 1 min 32.49 sec, thus setting a new record for Belarus that had previously been 1 min 33.21 sec. The Russian team clocked 1 min 31.52 sec and won a gold medal in the medley relay at the World Short Course Swimming Championships. The team USA came second in 1 min 32.97 sec.

Ilya Shimanovich also performed in the 50-metre breaststroke event held on the fifth day of the Windsor World Championships and took tenth place in 26.43 sec. Yulia Khitraya clocked 24.43 sec in the 50-metre freestyle relay and came 19th. The medal for the medley relay is a second medal for the Belarusian swimming team at the World Championships. Before that Pavel Sankovich had won a bronze medal in the 50-metre backstroke. The World Championships has ended on December, 11.
