Four medals – one gold and three silver ones – were taken by Belarusian athletes at the European Athletics Youth Championships, which have just finished in Tbilisi, - reports BELTA.

Ihar Zubko achieved the highest result. In 400m he covered the distance in 47.16 sec., having set a new personal record. Second place went to Romanian Mihai Cristian Pislaru (47.46 sec.) and the bronze medal went to Mashuma Korkmaz (47.69 seconds). According to the experts, in future Ihar Zubko can compete with another Belarusian runner Alexander Linnik, whose personal record in the Men's 400m is 45.43 seconds.
Viktoryia Zakharchuck can follow Alina Talay in her footsteps, since Viktoryia took 2nd place in the Women's 100m Hurdle - 13.48 seconds. The better result was shown only by Oki Desola from Italy - 13,30 seconds.
The silver medal was taken by a young hammer thrower Tatsiana Ramanouvich. She threw the hammer at the distance of 66 m 16 cm. Katerina Skypalova from the Czech Republic became the champion of Europe in this kind of competitions – 66 m 58 cm. Belarusian athlete Dmitry Karpuk has taken the 2nd place in Discus Throw earlier, showing the result of 21m 24 cm.
Belarus’ Junior National athletics team took the 7th place with 4 medals. The first place went to the athletes from the UK, which won 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. 3 gold and 2 silver medals were taken by the team of Germany, which is second in the overall standings, and Romanian athletes closed the list of the top three winners of the championships - 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
