Belarus win 33 medals at sambo tournament in Minsk

The 28th International Sambo Tournament for the Prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus took place at the Palace of Sports in Minsk, Belarus on 8-9 February.

The best sambo wrestlers were determined in ten weight categories on Friday. Belarusian athletes won 14 (three gold, four silver and seven bronze) medals.

On the second competition day victories were secured by Yauhen Riabikau (58kg) Anzhela Zhylinskaya (72kg) and Karyna Shut (80).

Belarus’ medal haul made up 33 (8 gold, 9 silver and 16 bronze) medals.

The awards were presented by Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, Olympic champion Dzmitry Dauhalionak.
