Belarus NOC President Viktor Lukashenko extends New Year greetings

Dear friends,

I extend my warmest wishes for the upcoming New Year! This celebration fills our hearts with joy, hope, and the warmth of family.

The year 2025 has given us much to be proud of. Belarusian athletes have demonstrated exceptional professionalism, resilience, and character, representing our country with dignity on the international stage. We have shown that we can move forward successfully despite obstacles, to set goals and achieve them. Our country enjoys a growing presence at the most prestigious tournaments, championships, and World and European Cup events.

In 2026, we will face no less complex and ambitious tasks, which I am confident we will overcome together. A special challenge awaits the Belarusian team at the Winter Olympic Games in Italy.

The main competitions will be a true test of the level of preparation, the ability to compete internationally and to deliver peak performance, regardless of any external circumstances or pressure. The Olympic Games will provide a unique opportunity to reaffirm our country’s status as a worthy participant in the global sports movement.

However, sport is not only about medals and prizes but also about daily invisible work, iron discipline, and loyalty to one’s dream. Remember that behind every victory stands a huge team of people who believe in the athlete and care for every step.

I wish our athletes, leaders of sports organizations, physical culture workers, veterans, sports enthusiasts, and fans robust health, prosperity, and triumph in every undertaking! May sport make us all better, stronger, and happier every single day!
