Belarus NOC announces Olympic team for 2026 Winter Games in Italy

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus was held at the newly inaugurated beach sports center on 20 January.

One of the key agenda items was the approval of the delegation composition for the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

To date, five athletes will compete in five disciplines in the upcoming events:

Cross-Country Skiing

Figure Skating
Viktoriia Safonova

Freestyle Skiing (Aerials)
Hanna Huskova

The composition of the delegation may be expanded through quota reallocation in freestyle skiing (aerials).

The meeting also addressed the performance results of the Olympiysky Sports and Recreation Complex, Lebyazhy Park, and the Belarusian Olympic Academy public organization, as well as plans for 2026.

Background information:

The XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo on 6-22 February.
Athletes will compete for 116 gold medals in 16 sports at the Milano Cortina 2026, which will mark Italy’s third time hosting the Winter Olympics. The event signals a return to northern Italy after a 70-year hiatus since Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956 and a 20-year break since Torino 2006. The event will be split between two locations: the ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo and Milan, the country’s leading fashion and business hub.
Competitions will take place across three regions. Cortina d’Ampezzo is located in the heart of the Dolomites, while Milan is the capital of Lombardy. In total, the area of the 14 sports venues will cover 22 square kilometers, spanning from Lombardy to Veneto, including the provinces of Trentino and South Tyrol. Ski mountaineering will make its debut in the Winter Olympic program in 2026.
