Aryna Sabalenka steps into the final of the Australian Open-2024

Second ranked of the world Aryna Sabalenka has reached the final of this prestigious tournament in Melbourne!

In the 1/2 final, she beat Coco Gauff from the USA – 7:6, 6:4. During the first set, the Belarusian led 5:2, but lost the advantage – 6:6. Only in the tiebreak Aryna Sabalenka seized the initiative, coped well with her opponent's serve and was able to win. The second set was held under Aryna's control.

Sabalenka took revenge on Gauff for her defeat in the final of the 2023 US Open.

– I concentrated and was ready for the American to move and hit all the balls. I had to be always ready to strike another blow. Plus your support, guys! The last time I played here, I had almost no support, but today, great. I appreciate it and thank you for the atmosphere, you make this place special for me, – Sabalenka said after the match.

A year earlier, the Belarusian became the winner of the women's singles in Melbourne, beating Elena Rybakina in the final.

Earlier, Victorya Azarenka won the Australian Open, which became the best in 2012 and 2013.
