Belarus’ Honored Coach Mikhail Tseytin dies aged 97

Gymnastics Master of Sports, Honored Coach of the USSR and the Republic of Belarus, internationally certified referee Mikhail Tseytin has died at the age of 97.

The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus offers condolescenes
to the family and friends of Mikhail Tseytin.

Mikhail Tseytin was born in 1920 in the city of Horki, Mogilev region.

In 1934, at the Republican festival of gymnastics for the youth and students, he placed 3rd in team event.

In 1947, Tseytin graduated from the Belarusian State Institute of Physical Culture.

From 1949 to 1953, Mikhail won 5 champion titles of the BSSR, and over the period of 1949-1952 he was in top-3 of the USSR Championships.

Having retired from sports, Mikhail Tseytin worked as the Associate Professor of the Gymnastics Department in the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.
