Belarus’ Tsikhantsou wins bronze, earns Olympic berth at 2024 IWF World Cup

Belarusian weightlifter Yauheni Tsikhantsou has secured a bronze medal and Olympic license at the ongoing 2024 IWF World Cup in Phuket, Thailand.

At the 2024 IWF World Cup the Belarusian lifted a total of 400kg (183kg+217kg) to best his previous achievement at the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia in February 2024.

Yauheni Tsikhantsou, a world champion and two-time European champion, competed in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Team Belarus have so far won 17 Olympic licenses.

Belarusian weightlifter Eduard Ziaziulin will compete at the 2024 IWF World Cup on 11 April.
