Belarus’ Sola wins women’s pursuit at Russian Biathlon Championships

Hanna Sola of Belarus won the women’s pursuit at the Russian Biathlon Championships in Tyumen.

The Belarusian biathlete ran fast and shot clean in the last standing to cross the finish line first.

Hanna Sola clocked 33:21.8 to secure her victory. Polina Shevnina came in second, Victoria Slivko finished third.

Belarusian biathlete Hanna Sola shared her emotions after the finish:

“It took me a little longer to complete three laps. No matter how much I try, there are still mistakes in my shooting, which I need to work on and sort out. Nevertheless, I managed to came in first. I am happy that the anthem of Belarus will be played. That is probably what any athlete representing his or her country wants to hear most of all,” she said.

Anton Smolski, the leader of the Belarusian national team, finished fourth in the men’s pursuit, 9.4 seconds behind the winner, Ivan Kolotov from Perm Territory.
