Day 10 of the 24th Winter Olympics in Beijing ended on a joyful note for Team Belarus as Hanna Huskova won a silver medal in aerials, freestyle skiing. This medal is the second silver medal of Belarusian Olympians. Earlier, Anton Smolski picked up a silver in the individual race in biathlon.

For Hanna Huskova, this medal is no less valuable than the gold she won at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in 2018. After the triumph at the previous Olympics, the Belarusian had gone through a lot. Belarusian media noted that in China Hanna Huskova managed to do what she failed to do for the past four years and win a medal. She once again will go down in the history of freestyle skiing. Bravo!

Huskova's rivals were very well prepared, which showed in the preliminary jumps (Hanna qualified for the final with the sixth result), but everything changed in the final. Hanna Huskova, who urged to keep believing in our aerials skiers after the team event, set a good example of character and determination at a decisive moment.

“When my feet touched the ground after a decisive jump, I realized that I did everything I could. The last time I performed this jump was in Pyeongchang, four years ago, therefore I was overcome with emotions. It was amazing!!! The decision to perform such a difficult jump was made already on the slope, when I realized after the second attempt that I had to go all-in. After all, I am a world-class athlete, I have to take risks. I was confident, though it was difficult to perform this jump, since I had not practiced it. I am glad that everything worked out this way today,” the silver medalist of the Games said.

“Hanna gave it her best from beginning to end today. She pulled herself together at the right moment and did everything right, just perfectly. 17-year-old Anastasiya Andryianava was good, too. She fought hard and fulfilled her main task as the debutant of the Games. Anna Derugo makes us happy too as she is ready to compete in the world-class field,” said Mikhail Kurlovich, the team's head coach.

There was some good news in figure skating. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) allowed 15-year-old Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to compete in the individual event at the Beijing Olympics.

The women's single skating events will take place on 15 February (short program) and 17 February (free skating).
