The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of bilateral relations, including measures to support athletes, coaches and specialists in shooting sports, taking into account the experience of cooperation gained at the level of national Olympic committees and sports federations.
Rodion Plitukhin praised the contribution of the heads of the Russian Olympic Committee and the Belarusian National Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov and Viktor Lukashenko, to establishing trustworthy and effective relations between the two countries in sports.
“We have common tasks, which are to develop the Olympic movement in our countries, to encourage young people to take up sport, to create conditions for self-fulfillment, which is especially important in the current difficult situation. We are ready to share all the opportunities that the Russian Olympic Committee has with our counterparts from sport federations in partner countries,” the secretary general of the Russian Olympic Committee said.
Chairman of the Belarusian Shooting Sports Federation Sergei Dudko spoke about the meeting with representatives of the Shooting Union of Russia that took place earlier and expressed hopes for the fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation with Russian counterparts with the involvement of the Russian Olympic Committee.
The event was attended by Senior Advisor to the ROC President Valery Vorobyov, Advisor to the ROC President Nikolai Varfolomeev, Deputy Secretary General of the ROC Viktor Berezov and Head of the International Relations Department of the ROC Alexei Slautin.
The Belarusian delegation also comprised Head of the International Relations Department of the NOC of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Shooting Sports Federation Vasily Yurchik, and Head Coach of the Belarusian national shooting team Viktoria Chaika.
