June, 27 is the final day of canoe sprint competitions. The Belarusian athletes are to compete in eleven medal events. Belarus’ duo Volha Khudzenka won silver in Women’s C2 500m.
The duo clocked 2:12.924. The gold went to Virag Balla and Kincso Takacs of Hungary (2:11.129). The top three was closed by the Russian canoeists (2:14.194).
Volha Klimava: «When you sprint in your own pleasure, you hear everything that the tribunes shout. During the last 250 meters, we clearly heard people chanting: Bel-la-rus! This is such a powerful charge of emotions! My mother and brother were also here, rooting for me in the grandstands. I hope they are proud of me.».
Nadezhda Makarchenko: «When you race at home, you lose a little sense of the competition. We won silver ... We are glad and happy. It was hard to start due to the wind, so we had to wait on the start line. With strong wind being over, everything went fine. The competition among canoe pairs is quite high. We will work on our mistakes to become better».

Congratulations to the athletes and the Belarusian team on achieving outstanding results!
