Lukashenko: Belarusians must keep alive the priceless heritage – the Great Victory

9 May Belarusians must keep alive the priceless heritage – the Great Victory, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to fellow Belarusians on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory.

The greetings read: “Belarus marks this remarkable date at a difficult time. However, our current difficulties pale before the hardships and losses suffered by the heroic generation that saved the world from the brown plague. We are eternally grateful to the veterans who are with us on this sacred day for all the people. We pay tribute to the patriotism, firmness and hard work of people on the home front. We bow our heads in memory of those who did not see the victorious May 1945 salute. We bow our heads to the grief of mothers who lost their sons and daughters to war. We grieve and remember all the victims of that terrible war.”

Life, however, always prevails over death, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “Belarusians must keep alive this priceless heritage, our Great Victory, honor and defend it against smear and falsifications,” the message reads.

The president wished his fellow Belarusians a peaceful sky, strong health, happiness, wellbeing and new achievements for the benefit of Belarus.
