The sixth and last stage of the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating 2016/2017 passes on February 10-12, 2017 in Minsk, report the event organizers.
For the first time in the history of sovereign Belarus the sport fans will have an opportunity to see the best speed skaters competing in Minsk, including the Russian, Dutch, Youth Korean, Canadian, and Chinese frontrunners. Olympic champion of the Sochi 2014 Semen Elistratov is also named for the Minsk stage.
Nine trainees of the Republican State Olympic Reserve Ice Sports Centre, including five members of the national team, will represent Belarus there. They have already proved their worth at the European Championship 2017 in Turin, where they took the first place in Final B. This time the national team features: Maksim Siarheyeu, the Belarus’ champion in 1000-1500m and 5000m relay; Yauheni Ryzhou, a champion in 500m and 5000m relay; Vera Trybul, the best in 3000m.
