Golovatsiuk Ignat and Nifantava Hanna – Flag Bearers at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing

The headquarters of the Belarusian delegation team announced the names of Flag Bearers for the Opening Ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. On 4 February speed skaters Ignat Golovatsiuk and Hanna Nifantava will carry the flag of Belarus through the Beijing National Stadium, better known as the "Bird's Nest".

"It is a great honor for us to carry our national flag at the Opening Ceremony of the Games in Beijing," Ignat and Hanna said.

Ignat Golovatsiuk is the record holder of Belarus in speed skating, champion of Belarus, participant of the XXIII Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang.

Hanna Nifantava – medalist of the World Championship among students, participant of the World Cup stages in speed skating at a distance of 500 m.

The Opening Ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing will start on 4 February at 15:00 p.m. Belarusian time (20:00 p.m. Chinese time). Previously, the Flag Bearers of the Belarusian team at the Winter Olympics were Evgeny Redkin (1994), Alexander Popov (1998, 2006), Oleg Ryzhenkov (2002), Oleg Antonenko (2010), Alexey Grishin (2014), Alla Tsuper (2018).
